The Dark Room

'Brutal, poetic, bizarre and hilarious' ★★★★★ British Comedy Guide

YOU AWAKE TO FIND YOURSELF IN A DARK ROOM.

Imagine a choose-your-own-adventure, text based game but LIVE. This is THE DARK ROOM. It’s strange, insane and addictive. It’s a comedy night, a gameshow and a pantomime all in one.

The audience is trapped in a retro videogame with a sadistic end-of-level boss. You either escape and win £1000 – or be brutally murdered by the rest of the crowd!

Will you:

  1. A) Find the Light Switch?
  2. B) Go North?
  3. C) Abandon Hope?

This high-octane, text-based adventure game show is the brainchild of improv overlord John Robertson. Filled with stand-up, appalling prizes and more audience chanting than you’d get at a protest – it’s a gut-busting rock n’ roll experience for everyone who attends.

John has performed The Dark Room at comedy and gaming festivals around the world. He is currently in Australia for PAX and this year alone has done Insomnia Gaming Festival, London Film & ComicCon, Sci-Fi Weekender, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, FringeWorld Perth, Glasgow Comedy Festival, Leicester Comedy Festival, Leeds International Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Underbelly Festival AND monthly residencies in London (Soho Theatre) and Manchester.
