★★★★★ Edinburgh Guide
You, generic member of the public, are invited to attend the wedding rehearsal of viral YouTube sensation Georgina Francis (star of Georgina’s Wedding Blogs) and her long suffering fiancé Simon, a Conservative Politician.
Georgina (dubbed ‘Britain’s Worst Bride’ in the press) is determined to have THE perfect wedding when she ties the knot this year, so what better way to make sure everything goes smoothly than to rehearse as many times as possible, all over the UK, using the audience as fill-in guests?!
Be warned – nothing will get in the way of her perfect day. Don’t. Be. Late…
It’s Got To Be Perfect is a high energy, semi-improvised show in which anything can, and will happen. Georgina is on the verge of a wedding related breakdown. Can the audience help her hold it together? With shambolic attempts at entertaining her guests, outrageous wedding plans, ridiculous rules and crazy commands, audience members are roped into playing the most important wedding roles culminating in a shocking finale.
In 2016, due to popular demand, Anna took ‘It’s Got To Be Perfect’ to the Edinburgh Fringe but it was bigger, bolder and braver than previously. In the prestigious Voodoo Rooms Ballroom, the queue for the show was around the block each day and the audience reviews flooded in with compliments and praise.
Her fiancée ‘Simon’ was played by various different fellow comedians throughout the run including Al Murray, Alexis Dubus and Marcus Brigstocke. ‘Georgina’ was also featured in lots of publications throughout the festival including Marie Claire, the British Comedy Guide, Chortle, Fresh Air Radio, ShortCom, The Stage, Female First, Broadway Baby, Telegraph’s funniest jokes of the Fringe and The Sun’s Best of the Fest!
She was also interviewed on STV Live in character before ‘storming’ off after some unfavourable questions from the hosts.
Shortly after the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the show was snapped up by both Adelaide & Melbourne Comedy Festivals for 2017.
